Physio - Dr Thusharika Dissanayaka (Thush)
PhD, MPhil, BSc in Physiotherapy
Thush holds a PhD in Physiotherapy from Monash University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy.
Alongside her clinic work, she also teaches physiotherapy and anatomy to university students and is involved in research that has been published and presented internationally.
Thush has also completed further training in dry needling and women’s pelvic health physiotherapy.
Clinical Experience
Thush has experience working in physiotherapy private practice and treating a wide range of conditions, with a particular interest in neck and shoulder pain, back pain, knee pain, and women's pelvic health conditions (bowel, bladder, and prolapse).
Manual therapy is one of her strengths, and she uses a hands-on approach during treatment sessions. Beyond exercise prescription, she is passionate about providing patients with strategies for injury prevention and self-management. She believes that understanding patients' interests and goals is crucial in providing evidence-based, effective treatments.
