Dr Maithri is a specialist general practitioner and associate professor of Global public health at Monash University. He has twenty years of experience in general practice and teaches medical students and Masters of Public health students at Monash University.

​

He was elected in 2019 as one of the worlds outstanding young physician leaders by the World Assembly of Sciences in Berlin.
